About Us

Ms Durian started her humble journey by setting up a shoebox bakery store, down in the heart of Potong Pasir. She made their first debut in the world of pastries back in March 2019.

Behind the scenes, the two-lady team had to work 12 exhausting hours every day, 6 days a week, and persistently for many months before things started to take off. 

They experimented and delivered over-the-top quality handmade durian confectioneries. Words started to spread and things were looking good for the duo.

Then, the Covid-19 pandemic hit the shores of Singapore back in 2020. The team persevered under the harsh restrictions and uncertainties that could risk the business from falling under. 

However, the team thrived within the lockdown protocols and continued to generate orders for their durian fans all over the island through their E-shop to offer island-wide deliveries. 

Their hardest challenge came when they received news that the Landlord will not be renewing the lease, they had to find a new home for Ms Durian. 

The duo set their eyes on a government site tender at 11 Kelantan Road, a strategic place for eating out in the charming district - Jalan Besar. They had to battle it out with other business owners, from pulling in their limited resources to exhausting every single help they can gather.

And they won. 

The ambitious pair had pulled through 12 months of gruesome pain of doing major renovation for their beloved Ms Durian’s standalone house back in 2021. 

So today we invite you to follow the durian’s infamous scent, track down the cake crumbs to the road leading to the bakery, and get greeted by the ladies of the house, Ling Goh and Jeslyn Tan, the true creators of Ms Durian | Specialty Bakery & Cafe.

Our Durians.

We work and seek local retailers to source our durian supply. We guarantee the best harvest from each season to make and bake our durian confectioneries all year round. The variant that we used for our creations is the Mao Shan Wang durian. The sole durian was perfect for the job.

The best requirement for a durian confectionary must be one that is the creamiest, richest and the most buttery among all other durian varieties. This particular kind, the MSW, is tender and consists of fleshier durian meat that melts into the mouth of the tasters, a natural treat, characterized by its rich flavor and creamy texture. That is one of the many secrets we use to make our durian desserts stand out among the rest.
